Senior Counsel – Corporate & Commercial
A dynamic and growing publicly traded REIT is seeking a Senior Counsel – Corporate & Commercial to join its legal team. This role will focus on vendor and commercial contract negotiation, support third-party management programs, and assist with insurance operations and other strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate will be a proactive legal advisor and collaborative business partner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead negotiation, drafting, and management of vendor and commercial contracts.
- Support third-party management agreements and ongoing client relationships.
- Assist with insurance program operations and coordination.
- Provide legal guidance on trademarks, IP, brand protection, and strategic projects.
- Manage outside counsel to ensure efficiency and value.
Qualifications:
- JD from an accredited law school; active bar membership in CA or TX (or eligible for in-house counsel status in TX).
- Minimum 6 years of experience in corporate and commercial law.
- Law firm training required; in-house experience preferred.
- REIT experience is a plus.
Skills:
- Strong contract negotiation and management expertise.
- Familiarity with third-party programs, IP, insurance, or marketing is a plus.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
- High discretion with sensitive information.
