The group is committed to building a successful business today and a sustainable future for tomorrow, driven by talented people and a strong customer focus.<\/p>\n<p>The German operations include businesses active in off\u2011grid energy supply, solar and energy\u2011management solutions and specialist refrigerant gases. These units play a critical role in supporting the organisation&#8217;s growth strategy and in enabling customers to transition to lower\u2011carbon solutions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About the Role<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Head of Legal &amp; Compliance &#8211; Germany<\/strong> will play a central leadership role, supporting the executive team across all German business units. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer for Germany, the role provides strategic legal guidance, ensures regulatory compliance, manages risk, and enables commercial growth.<\/p>\n<p>This position requires a seasoned legal professional who can operate across multiple sectors, advise senior leadership, and build a robust legal and compliance framework that supports both operational excellence and long\u2011term strategic objectives.<\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities Head of Legal &amp; Compliance<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Strategic Legal Leadership<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Develop and implement legal and compliance strategies aligned with business goals.<\/li>\n<li>Advise senior German leadership on legal risks, opportunities, governance, and assurance.<\/li>\n<li>Lead legal and compliance input on acquisitions, joint ventures, and restructuring activities.<\/li>\n<li>Align local legal and compliance strategy with broader group\u2011level frameworks.<\/li>\n<li>Promote a strong culture of ethical conduct and legal awareness across all business units.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Leadership &amp; Development<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Design and implement a legal and compliance resource model that ensures appropriate support for each business unit.<\/li>\n<li>Operate in line with agreed service\u2011level expectations to deliver consistent, high\u2011quality support.<\/li>\n<li>Participate in ongoing leadership development and benefit from opportunities for progression within the wider organisation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Compliance &amp; Risk Management<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure compliance with German and EU laws, regulations, and industry standards.<\/li>\n<li>Oversee internal compliance programmes and the implementation of group policies.<\/li>\n<li>Apply effective risk\u2011management techniques and provide proactive advice to leadership.<\/li>\n<li>Manage relationships with regulators, external counsel, and public authorities.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain the Risk Register and support regular risk discussions across business units.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Contract &amp; Commercial Oversight<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial contracts.<\/li>\n<li>Provide pragmatic legal input on material commercial negotiations.<\/li>\n<li>Manage significant disputes, litigation, and external legal counsel.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure the legal framework supports commercially focused decision\u2011making.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Corporate Governance<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support management decisions with legal advice, policy oversight, and appropriate documentation.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure corporate structures and decision\u2011making processes are effective and fit for purpose.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Core Competencies<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Legal, Compliance &amp; Commercial Expertise:<\/strong> Strong experience in complex legal environments, including commercial contracts, corporate governance, M&amp;A, and compliance frameworks (e.g., anti\u2011bribery, data privacy, competition law).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Multi\u2011Sector Versatility:<\/strong> Ability to manage legal issues across diverse business units and regulated sectors.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Cross\u2011Border Legal Awareness:<\/strong> Understanding of EU and international legal frameworks and their impact on operations.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Legal Technology &amp;
