Interim Head of Legal – Charity | Part-time
Taylor Root is working with a UK charity who support underserved consumers internationally to achieve an income through access to clean energy. Due to interesting strategic growth, the foundation are looking to hire their first lawyer on a part-time (2 days/10-14 hours per week basis) for an initial term of 3 months – the idea is that this will be extended. In terms of the working arrangement, this can either be set full days or no. of hours split across the week.
The role and work will include:
- Contracts/commercial negotiation
- Financial investments: looking at how investment vehicles can be structured with counterparts
- Charitable compliance (this part of the role is something that the individual doesn’t necessarily need to have experience of, and could pick up in the role)
- Ethics and compliance, data privacy etc…
The commercial contracts piece is very significant for them at this stage, as well as handling financial investment agreements.
Experience required:
- Ideally, c. 10+ years’ experience.
- Strong commercial contracts experience.
- Experience in drafting and managing financial investment agreements.
- Any experience with charity law is a bonus, but not necessary. Having a keeness to get up to speed in this area is key.
- Strong commercial awareness, proactivity, collaborative and communication skills.
- Ability to work closely with senior stakeholders, c-suite, external counsel, and partnering legal teams.
