The Opportunity

Our client is an American Fortune 500 company seeking an experienced legal counsel to join their close-knit legal team. Hybrid working model for those based in Sydney, although the role can be performed remotely from anywhere else in Australia.

You will form part of a growing APAC team supporting business in the region.

Role

  • Review, prepare and negotiate software licenses, IT service contracts and other outsourcing agreements for services and products provided to financial institutions.
  • Provide advice to the business on privacy, data security, software licensing and regulatory matters.
  • Conduct legal research on IT law, payment processing and payment services.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external legal counsel.
  • Keep abreast of any changes and developments in regulations that may impact the business.

Ideal Candidate

  • Admitted as a Solicitor in Australia/ NZ or United Kingdom.
  • 4-6 years PAE with private practice or inhouse experience.
  • Previous technology experience is essential, financial technology experience is desirable.
  • You must have strong analytical and advisory skills, as well as the ability to use creative problem-solving skills to solve issues pragmatically.
  • Strong negotiation skills, dealing with competing priorities, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
