Our client is a global medical technology company. They design and manufacture technology that takes the limits off living. They support healthcare professionals to return their patients to health and mobility, helping them to perform at their fullest potential.

This position will be a key partner and contributor to the companies Global Commercial teams. As part of the Global Commercial Legal team, you will work alongside others in the in-house team and with the support of a team of paralegals. As a global organization, operating in over 100 countries around the world, there will be many opportunities to work on global initiatives and develop your practice in a number of different areas. This role is ideal for someone seeking there first managerial opporunity.

Location : Boston or Memphis – Hybrid role but can be fully remote

Role and Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice and support to Global Commercial Teams, with a focus on Orthopaedics, Sports Medicine and ENT, developing standard and bespoke documentation for new product and service offerings and consistent use of template agreements within the business
  • Manage a team of junior legal counsels
  • Support, draft, review and negotiate sales and pricing agreements, rebates and discounts, GPO agreements, master service agreements and other commercial contracts.
  • Proactively manage routine legal matters as first point of contact for US Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine commercial sales, marketing and other business functions.
  • Work with Compliance function to ensure commercial alignment and compliance with healthcare regulatory laws, including Anti Kickback Statute, HIPAA, HITECH and others.
  • Support on M&A and integrations as required
  • Managing legal fees and budget for external counsel as required
  • Providing support for legal strategy, training, contract template development and key projects and initiatives as directed by Senior Legal Counsel, Global Commercial or Group General Counsel


  • JD/Bachelor degree from a well-respected institution and licensed to practice law in the US
  • 10+ years post qualification experience, with relevant experience in transactional, commercial, and corporate practice areas.
  • Life sciences experience would be preferred
  • Would suit a candidate who is seeking a high degree of responsibility and development of client base/practice
  • Strong Advisory and Business Partnering skills
  • Solid legal, analytical, communication and presentation skills for the candidate’s level of experience
  • Strong time management skills coupled with an ability to manage both internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • A keen interest in and ability to understand the business, its strategies, people and organizational structures
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others, both within and outside of the Legal team
