A leading underwriter of high-end corporate/M&A transactions is looking for a legal graduate for a commercial, business-focussed underwriting role.
This is an excellent opportunity for a paralegal looking to take a step away from the traditional legal career path and take on a new challenge in a growing sector at an expanding company that encourages career development and the opportunity to ultimately work as an underwriter for the business.
If you have a legal education and 6-12 months of office experience, this could be your chance to work closely with all sides of the business, liaise with brokers and forge a path as an underwriter specialising in the buoyant corporate M&A market and work on complex warranty and indemnity policies. You would be liaising regularly with various key stakeholder teams, including legal, compliance and the underwriting business, to ensure the smooth running of underwriting activity relating to exciting high-profile corporate transactions.
The ideal candidate for this role will be somebody with financial services experience - preferably around the corporate or insurance sectors - and a legal education, strong attention to detail and an analytical mind who is looking for a more commercial career path. The business is looking for driven candidates with a passion for building and maintaining working relationships. You will need to be able to handle yoursef in interactions with brokers and senior stakeholders and be able to take initiative and work autonomously while also being able to collaborate regularly with the wider team.
