Our client is a prestigious US law firm with a large and long established presence in the Asia Pacific region.
In line with continued strategic growth and client demand, they are looking to hire 1-2 exceptional mid-level associates to join their Singapore office, preferably at the 4-6 PQE (US scale) mark.
Working directly for partners based in the US, the successful recruit(s) will provide full service support to major, high profile technology companies on a broad spectrum of regulatory, litigation, compliance and criminal matters across the globe. More specifically, the successful candidate(s) will advise international social media platforms on the lawfulness of online content reported under various local laws in the APAC region as well as developing litigation strategy ranging from data protection, defamation, IP infringement and consumer protection. You will also help guide clients through regulatory investigations and conduct risk assessments associates with newly developed products.
Applications are invited from candidates who fit the following criteria:-
- outstanding academic credentials;
- 4 to 6 PQE (US/UK scale); ***please note that for those NOT admitted in the US e.g. Singapore, Australia this equates to at least 5 PQE given the difference in length of training ***
- preferably admitted in the US or UK although those admitted in HK, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand etc are also invited to apply, provided they have relevant experience;
-excellent commercial awareness and client-facing skills;
-demonstrable litigation and/or advsory/regulatory expeirence in the technology/IP space.
- passion for working in the technology space and particular interest in internet law/speech law.
Given that this is, for now, a standalone role reporting into partners in the US, it goes without saying that applicants will be mature and self motivated and will thrive in an autonomous role, albeit communicating daily with a global team of outstanding lawyers.
