An exciting opportunity for a senior M&A lawyer with extensive experience of running international M&A transactions, ideally within the Energy sector, to join the M&A Legal team of one of the world's 'super major' energy companies as they continue their transition from traditional sources of power into renewable and low carbon energy sources.

Reporting to the Managing Counsel for the M&A team, you will be responsible for providing vital legal support to the Group M&A function, responsible for conducting all merger, divestment and acquisition activity greater than $50m (incl. private and public M&A/divestments, joint ventures and public market security trades) across all business streams. You will be heavily involved in assessing the market, pricing and bidding, negotiating and driving transactions to completion.

Ideally, you will be 8+ PQE with strong post-qualification experience in a top law firm and/or as an in-house counsel (working in the power industry). Experience in power, renewable energy and/or technology M&A will be essential for this role, as well as strong client advisory, negotiation and transaction management abilities.

This is an exciting time for the business as they strive towards their net zero ambitions, with the M&A team playing a key role. This will provide you the opportunity to lead on exciting, fast-paced deals at the forefront of the group's ambitions, working with the business leadership on a day-to-day basis.

A great opportunity to further your in-house legal career, if this role sounds of interest to you, please get in touch ASAP.

Please note our advertisements use PQE/salary levels purely as a guide. However we are happy to consider applications from all candidates who are able to demonstrate the skills necessary to fulfil the role.
