This newly created position is a senior legal counsel role supporting TMT (Technology, Media, Telecoms) for a well-recognised, global brand. The role would suit an experienced lawyer with exposure to tech, data, e-commerce, telecom or marketing sectors, who wants to help drive a digital strategy.

You could be crunching customer data flows with a global marketing platform, managing the metrics of a digital agency, working on IP licenses with a video streaming channel or agreeing revenue terms with the next big tech start-up. You'll be working on ground-breaking customer propositions, developing best practice and new ways of tackling customer challenges. Reporting in to the Head of Legal you'll be happy to work independently, including on complex projects, predominantly supporting three key areas:

  • Marketing, Trading & IP (New brands, proposition launches, checking of trademarks, ensuring what they advertise is legally correct).
  • Digital Products & Content - Dealing with customer data, technical contracts, data protection, customer data flow.
  • Marketing agreements & Devices - Dealing with agreements with marketing agencies and PR You need to have trained in a top tier law firm and have qualified in to a TMT team. Ideally you will be 5+ PQE and possess exposure to marketing/advertising work and some in house experience. You'll need to be comfortable working with senior stakeholders across the business with a collaborative but challenging mentality. You will gain significant exposure to leadership and your influence will extend beyond a mere legal remit, to providing strategic advice and input to drive better outcomes for the business and customers. You'll need the ability to view situations from a commercial or wider business perspective (analysing risks and opportunities), consider the deal in the context of the business strategy and deliver the best possible outcomes in a timely manner. This is a fantastic role for a technically minded TMT contracts lawyer to work on a range of deals at the cutting edge of data products and a great opportunity for a private practice lawyer to make the move in house.

Please note our advertisements use PQE/salary levels purely as a guide. However we are happy to consider applications from all candidates who are able to demonstrate the skills necessary to fulfil the role.
