Senior Legal Counsel, Shared Services (10+ PQE)
Our client, a leading global resources organization, is looking for a dynamic and experienced commercial lawyer to join a collaborative and high-performing team within a global organization.
This role involves handling a diverse range of commercial contracting, strategic advisory, and process improvement initiatives within the global legal team.
Role & Responsibility:
- Provide expert commercial legal counsel and support to the global legal team and business stakeholders, including high-level contract negotiation, drafting, and maintaining legal governance documents.
- Lead projects involving significant commercial agreements, particularly in areas like procurement and marketing, and advise on legal developments impacting the organization.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by standardizing legal documents, creating guidance materials, and promoting contract-related legal education within the business.
Requirements:
- Qualified commercial lawyer with a minimum of 6 PQE, admitted to practice in Malaysia (UK or Australian qualifications are advantageous).
- Demonstrated experience in commercial contract negotiation (such as goods, services, software, or commodities). Exposure to legal process improvements and internal documentation development is beneficial.
- Strong team player with the ability to work independently, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, pragmatic commercial judgement, and an innovative mindset.
