Senior Legal Counsel Corporate – Fugro

About the role:
The range of legal issues which the Senior Legal Counsel will cover include drafting, reviewing and negotiating all types of international contracts, such global commercial agreements, joint venture and partnership agreements, M&A, and more general business contracting support. You will provide general advice and counselling on all types of legal matters involved in daily commercial operations as well as litigation matters. Furthermore you will engage and partner with the various functional departments/teams (e.g., Finance, Internal Audit, IT, Accounting, Tax and HR) in the business regions to support business and management matters and initiatives. On top of that you will coordinate and work closely with other members of the global legal team (IP, Fleet, compliance and procurement) to ensure consistent application of company policies, standards and processes including its compliance program. As Senior Legal Counsel in the global legal team you will also contribute to the project management of global multidisciplinary projects.
About you:
– Strong educational background with a Dutch Master in Law. An internationally respected LLM is an asset.
– 8 to 10 years’ legal experience gained in private practice;
– A previous in-house legal experience within the same or related industry (i.e. energy services) or in more broadly industrial companies would be appreciated but is not a pre-requisite;
– A generalist legal experience (commercial, transaction, finance, M&A etc.);
– A demonstrable experience of building strong working relationships with key stakeholders in the business through providing counsel that is commercial, pragmatic and fully compliant with all relevant statutory regulations;
– A trusted business partner of unquestionable integrity and who is immediately credible and accepted at all levels of the organization. Able to effectively influence and secure ‘buy-in’ from colleagues, to connect colleagues and be a real networker;
– Able to prioritize and have the capacity to distinguish essential matters;
– Fluency in English and Dutch.
