Our client is a leader in the energy and sustainability market. They are at the forefront of environmental innovation, leading the charge in providing cutting-edge solutions for large-scale energy consumers and are looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to join their legal team.
About the role:
Reporting to the General Counsel. The Senior Legal Counsel, you will gain broad exposure to all business matters and be involved in power purchase agreements, commodity trading documents, corporate documents, complex derivatives, financing facilities, and litigation. You will work with a wide variety of products and documents and assist in managing our established yet growing legal team. The role will require the candidate to be responsible for the provision of comprehensive legal advice across the portfolio on a variety of commercial issues. Working in collaboration with the business in the preparation, reviewing and negotiation of commercial agreements and contracts
About you:
The successful candidate will have at least 4 PQE, having trained in a top UK law firm. Ideally, with experience within the energy sector and/ or commodities. Familiarity with project finance, including structuring and negotiating complex financing agreements. Additionally, you will have experience of working in a fast-paced in-house environment (desirable but not essential). This role would suit someone who is commercially astute and who thrives in a fast paced, complex, and rapidly changing environment.
