Senior Legal Advisor – Commercial

SENIOR LEGAL ADVISOR (COMMERCIAL)

My client is a leading UK household name in media and entertainment who Taylor Root partner with on an exclusive basis.

The corporate / commercial team is looking for a general commercial lawyer who will sit centrally within the business in a broad ranging commercial role and report to the Director of Legal.

The main purpose of this role will be supporting teams across many different departments and providing commercial legal advice on third party contracts across the group. You will deal with a wide range of stakeholders including Procurement, Compliance, Insurance, Finance, Tax, HR, Cyber, Technology, Data Privacy, Brand Protection, Group Strategy and Social Purpose.

The ideal background for this person will be someone who has strong general commercial background of 5 years’ PQE+. It could be someone in private practice (within a TMT/Commercial team) or someone who is already within an in-house environment but looking to move into the media/broadcast industry.

With strong commercial grounding you will be someone who can operate independently at group level on significant contracts. If someone has IP experience as well and can work on bigger contentious matters, then this is a really nice to have but the bulk of the role is commercial contracts and negotiations.

In terms of the required skill set for this role this person they need to be commercial in approach and exhibit gravitas with an ability to build relationships effectively and manage senior stakeholders. They will have the ability to work independently to provide strategic and commercially driven legal advice and recommendations to senior stakeholders across the group. It is also key that they can demonstrate the ability to exercise sound analytical judgement to assess risk.
