Senior Lead Counsel
I am currently working with a global Financial Services company who are looking to recruit a Senior Lead Counsel for their commercial transactions team. You will report into the Associate General Counsel who leads this team. This role will have responsibility for market data agreements and licensing arrangements.
As the Senior Lead Counsel, you will serve as an essential strategic partner to stakeholders and help to identify business risks and define company policies and procedures. You will work with colleagues in the business and functions across the company worldwide and be responsible for advising, counselling, structuring and negotiating technology, market data, index and intellectual property related transactions and contracts.
The main responsibilities include negotiating and drafting a wide range of market data and licensing agreements, including subscription-based business models, for North America and Global enterprise use.
Qualifications and Skills sought:
- Minimum 8 to 10+ years total legal experience.
- Experience with IP licensing/tech transactions, data, corporate, financial services, M&A or other transactional based work; and as a member of an in-house legal team, preferably with a technology, professional services or financial services company preferred.
- Experience drafting and negotiating and advising clients on challenging and complex data licensing transactions. Experience advising in the financial and/or technology sector.
- JD and relevant bar membership required.
This is a hybrid role and can be based in either NYC or Florida. No relocation is provided.
