Senior Financial Reporting Analyst – Accounting / Risk | London | Up to £60,000 Plus Bonus & Benefits

I have partnered with a global financial service firm in search for a reporting analyst with experience in a Risk Analyst role or a Middle office Product Control / Finance function.

The Reporting Analyst will be responsible the production of standard daily and monthly portfolio reporting, as well as project related continuous improvement work and responding to ad hoc stakeholder requests. The products in-scope include cash and securities, predominantly fixed income.

The role includes key interactions with the Front Office Trading desk and the Group Risk Team

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Perform regular portfolio analysis and reporting
  • Production of daily P&L flash and attribution reports for Front Office colleagues and business stakeholders.
  • Provision of qualitative information, such as explaining market moves and associated key P&L drivers.
  • Daily portfolio analysis, providing details of holdings, exposure and investment allocation.
  • Identify and drive innovation-related initiatives, including workflow automation and data analytics projects.
  • Identify operational issues, develop solutions in collaboration with stakeholders and drive implementation.
  • Provide analysis and information in response to ad hoc requests from various areas throughout the firm.
  • Support new initiatives to ensure correct controls, processes and procedures are in place to mitigate risk.

Essential experience and skills required

  • Prior experience working in Middle Office, Product Control/ Finance, Operations or other control function.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent, preferably in a numerical discipline.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, are essential.
  • Highly attentive to risk and the importance of a strong control environment.
  • Track record of improving processes and adding value to stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail in all aspects of work.
  • Highly skilled in Excel and VBA, with the ability to write and amend code.
