Senior Contracts Specialist
Our client is a global leader in the energy & commodities industry, with their Asia Pacific division headquartered in Singapore. They are recruiting for an experienced contract professional to support the growing APAC business.
Working closely with stakeholders including the traders, analysts, legal, credit, treasury, and operations teams, you will prepare, review and negotiate contracts for the sale and purchase of oil commodities products.
Responsibilities
- Review General Terms and Conditions along with specific transaction terms in contracts received from Counterparties
- Prepare, review and negotiate, within agreed parameters, contract documentation for the sale and purchase of crude and petroleum products including supplementary documents.
- Identify and escalate any legal and commercial contractual issues and opportunities to minimise legal and commercial risk. Provide support on reports, checks and reviews relating to trading operations, communicate issues and coordinate an appropriate resolution.
- Ensure internal contract documents are accurate, up-to-date and well maintained
- Work with the Legal team to identify, implement and monitor continuous improvement opportunities with Contracts Team.
Requirements
- At least 6-8 years’ experience working in the contracts or operations department of a crude and/or petroleum products trading business.
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of legal terminology
- Knowledge of contract basics, GTCS, all physical contract terms and the oil commodities business
