Senior Associate – Employment Law
About the Role
An international law firm with a strong presence in Brisbane is seeking a Senior Associate to join its highly regarded Labour, Employment & Workplace Safety team. This is an opportunity to work with a team recognised for its expertise in employment, industrial relations, and workplace safety law, advising a diverse client base across industries including construction, healthcare, mining, and manufacturing.
This role will involve a mix of advisory, transactional, and litigation work, including representing employers in employment-related disputes, drafting and negotiating employment contracts and workplace policies, advising on compliance strategies, and handling matters before various courts and tribunals. You will also play a key role in business development, training, and mentoring junior lawyers.
The Ideal Candidate
We are seeking a lawyer with:
- 7+ years PQE in employment and workplace safety law
- experience in both front-end advisory work and employment-related disputes
- a commercially focused approach with strong problem-solving skills
- a track record of mentoring and supervising junior lawyers
- strong client relationship and business development capabilities
- excellent drafting, negotiation, and advocacy skills
