Fugro is in the process of taking its procurement activity to a higher level and strengthening its team by adding legal expertise. The Global Procurement team currently consists of 16 people and is based in Leidschendam, the Netherlands. There are as well country and regional procurement teams in place (about 200 people) to manage local procurement. In 2021 the Procurement Department managed worldwide around 740 million Euro spend and 23 k suppliers. Most of the spend is concentrated in around 12 countries.
Part of Fugro’s procurement strategy is to improve suppliers’ contracting and to effectively manage suppliers’ risks. To help the Procurement department achieve that, Fugro is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Legal Counsel Procurement to join the Global Procurement department in Fugro’s headquarters in Leidschendam. The Legal Counsel Procurement will report to the Global Senior Legal Counsel Procurement based in the Netherlands.
About the role:
You will be responsible to handle various procurement related legal issues and will work in an international and dynamic setting. Your main responsibilities will include drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and advising on procurement contracts in the field of IT, 3rd party personnel, corporate services, and equipment purchase. Typical documents are global/framework agreements, master services agreements, purchase orders, terms & conditions, software (license) agreements, memoranda of understanding, non-disclosure and confidentiality agreements. You will assist the Senior Legal Counsel Procurement with developing, updating, and promoting the use of procurement contract templates. You will play an active role in promoting the role of the Procurement department and good contract management practices throughout the company. You will cooperate closely with the Procurement and the Legal team.
About you:
– Law degree.
– About 5 years in-house experience with drafting, reviewing, and negotiating procurement contracts, preferably in an international environment.
– Experience with and interest in IT contracts is a plus.
– Energetic, self-starter, pragmatic, proactive, result-driven and willing to learn.
– Able to work well independently as well as part of a (global) team.
– Able to build and maintain relations and to raise awareness on legal issues in a constructive and cooperative manner.
– Fluent in (written & oral) English.
