We have been exclusively mandated by our client, a US-listed Technology MNC, on a legal counsel role in Singapore. This is a newly created headcount, providing legal support and advisory to the relevant business units to build their own payment services capabilities.

An exciting opportunity to be part of a new legal arm within the broader group, this is the role for you if you are an independent self-starter. Someone who enjoys building your own legal capabilities in a start-up environment would be a good fit for this position.


  • Draft, review and negotiate general contracts and commercial agreements
  • Providing legal advisory on regulatory requirements relevant to the business including Payment Services Act
  • Ensuring compliance of business models and strategies, operations, marketing, product offerings and services
  • Keeping up to date with local and regional laws and regulations pertaining to the business and updating internal policies, processes and controls


  • Singapore qualified lawyer with 5-8 PQE gained from a mix of private practice and in-house capacity, ideally within FSR practice or with strong PSA experience
  • Relevant industry (fintech and payments) exposure responsible for licensing and regulations
  • Proven ability to provide sound commercial legal advise with strong foundation in compliance
  • Independent individual who is a team player with excellent prioritization and project management experience
  • Superb communication skills with proficiency in both English and Mandarin to communicate with internal stakeholders and Chinese clients
  • Open to international travel when required
