Our client is a leading MNC focused on advancing solutions in nutrition, well-being, and sustainable innovation across a range of industries, including biotechnology and sensory experiences. They are looking for a Legal Counsel to join our APAC legal team, based in Jakarta, Indonesia.

In this dynamic role, you will be at the heart of our regional operations, offering key legal insights and support that drive the business forward. You’ll ensure compliance with local laws and regulations while championing their commitment to ethical standards.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic legal support to various teams across various functions within the organization while working collaboratively with these internal partners.
  • Ensure adequate governance practices are aligned with company-wide ethics policies and other internal guidelines, supporting any required local investigations when necessary.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a broad spectrum of agreements, including contracts related to confidentiality, sales, distribution, and procurement.
  • Engage with government entities and external stakeholders as needed to maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee and manage any legal disputes or litigation matters to safeguard the company’s interests, liaising with external counsels where necessary.
  • Handle all necessary corporate secretarial responsibilities for the company’s operations, ensuring compliance with local corporate regulations.

Requirements:

  • LLB from a reputable university and admitted to practise law in Indonesia.
  • 4-8 PQE gained from a leading law firm specializing in the corporate and commercial practice and/or from a global MNC
  • Solid understanding of local regulations and a proactive, adaptable work style.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating within a dynamic team.
  • Experience interacting with government bodies and managing compliance and corporate governance matters.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and drafting skills. Fluency in both Bahasa Indonesia and English.
  • Attention to detail and a hands-on approach.
