Senior Legal Counsel – Energy – Construction / Infrastructure
We represent a leading oil and gas company seeking to recruit a senior legal counsel focusing on energy infrastructure, transportable in a cleaner and more sustainable way.
The Team
Our client’s in-house legal team partners with leaders across the business in order to improve commercial value while minimizing and managing legal risk. The breadth of our client’s business creates opportunities to work on varied and interesting matters including current assets and operations, and new and emerging sustainable energy solutions.
The Role
This role reports into the General Counsel and would see you as the main client relationship manager and primary legal contact for a portfolio across the business.
- Provide strategic advice to the business in relation to their commercial activities and transactions.
- Assist in structuring, documenting and negotiation of business transactions.
- Providing legal advice and expertise on matters which relate to high level legal advice in new or emerging areas of law, construction/infrastructure and property.
- Supporting the business with M&A or restructuring activity, and new market entry
The Successful Candidate
Our client is seeking an experienced lawyer (7-12 years PQE as a guide). In addition, the ideal candidate will have:
- In-house (or in-house secondment) experience
- Demonstrated experience with large transactions in the construction and/or infrastructure.
- An interest or experience with energy, energy laws and regulations
- The ability to identify and manage legal risks.
- Experience with complex transactions and commercial documents
- Ability and commercial acumen to interact and advice the business.
