Legal Counsel (Commodity Trading/Trade Finance)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a junior level commodity trading or trade finance lawyer to join the Legal Affairs department of a dynamic and rapidly growing refining and energy trading company.

About the role
Reporting to the Assistant Managing Director of Legal and working closely with the wider legal department as well as internal business stakeholders, your responsibilities will include:
- Drafting and reviewing corporate documents including board documents, consultancy agreements, trade and credit support documents, NDAs and other commercial contracts
- Supporting the trading business and new deal origination
- Advising on physical oil trading contracts, General Terms & Conditions, storage agreements, charterparties, shipping and demurrage issues
- Advising on contentious issues with the support of external counsel when required
You’ll be a lawyer with roughly 1-3 years post-qualification experience, preferably having worked within the energy sector or a commercial bank. You’ll also need a track record of advising on commodity trading or trade finance agreements. You will be enthusiastic about working across a wide remit of matters and eager to learn.
