Legal Counsel – Broadcast

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a talented corporate/commercial lawyer to join the legal team of a global critical national infrastructure and connectivity provider. This company is at the forefront of enabling a switched-on world and is a leader in developing new ways for broadcasters to reach viewers and listeners. More recently, they have expanded into the Utilities sector, becoming a key provider of digital technology, ensuring energy and water grids and meters are getting smarter, which in turn means more control and less wastage.
About the role:
Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer you will predominantly lead the strategic legal support for the innovative and high-growth Utilities business as well as the wider broadcast business, responsible for drafting and negotiating contracts, contract renewals, NDAs and standard terms in relation to all core areas, including Procurement, Utilities, Radio, TV and Satellite. As part of a small team, you will also support on a broad array of internal matters, including working with external counsel on litigation and other key matters, working closely with the regulatory team as well as supporting the CLO on group structuring matters, including shareholder and finance issues.
About you:
Ideally, you will be 4-7 PQE with strong post-qualification experience in a top tier law firm and/or as an in-house counsel. Experience in public procurement, technology outsourcing or other high value commercial contracts is desirable. The ideal candidate will have a pro-active approach, will be confident in negotiations and be able to demonstrate a commercial and logical way of thinking.
