CLIENT: This is an extremely rare opportunity to join a leading bank, as a Legal Counsel working across a wide variety of sectors. They have ambitious growth plans for 2023 onwards and the time is right for them to expand their legal capability with a new hire into their Dubai office.
ROLE: Sitting in one of numerous divisions, you will advise across (but not limited to) general banking, wholesale, capital markets, debt, and treasury, and report up to an established General Counsel. You’ll take on a supporting role on all core transactional finance work across the bank, with examples below:
* LMA syndicated loans (project finance, hospitality, healthcare, shipping, commodities).
* Security perfection in the UAE and other major jurisdictions (UK, BVI, Cayman, Singapore).
* ISDA and GMRA standard agreements negotiation.
* Loans to Financial institutions in different jurisdictions.
* Hedging linked to lending, knowing hedging provisions in LMA documentation.
* Experience in Hedging/Capital Markets/Derivatives.
CANDIDATE: There are some key criteria to be taken into consideration:
* You’ll need at least 5+ years of post-qualified experience.
* It’s essential that you have worked within an international law firm, or international banking environment, and ideally both.
* Core skills will be institutional banking, across loans, refinancing, capital markets, and a wide range of other finance (project, aviation, commodities).
* You need not be based in the Middle East right now, but regional exposure will be helpful.
* Arabic language skills are not needed, but will be highly valued.
