My client, a fintech start up is looking for a 4-6 PQE lawyer with financial services experience to be their first counsel.
In the mid to long term, the plan for this person is to build and hire for their own team, so they are looking for someone with an entrepreneurial spirit, who can be visionary and who wants to lead a team (there are already two compliance people in the company).
This role will be working very closely with the country manager, and CEO and reports directly to the Head of Corporate Development.
Your role will be to build up the legal & compliance function for the group and steering the growth of business while ensuring regulatory compliance and enhancing legal & compliance control.
- Lead, strategize and set up the entire legal & compliance framework for operating the company as a payments company to meet regulatory compliance
- Draft, review and amend agreements and other legal documents in a wide range of areas including agreements with service providers, business partnerships, group structuring and other key business operating areas that require legal advice
- Engage with regulators and local authorities in applying and maintaining licenses
Ideally, you have 4 - 6 years of experience in financial services regulation and have a passion for the payments/ fintech industry. You should also be commercial-minded, dynamic and interested to work in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial set up.
To comply with local laws, our Singapore office EA Licence No is: 17S8475.
Please note our advertisements use PQE/salary levels purely as a guide. However we are happy to consider applications from all candidates who are able to demonstrate the skills necessary to fulfil the role.
