Leading City Firm – Private Client Associate NQ-3
Our award-winning client is a leading city firm, with an exceptional reputation for their private client services, advising major corporates and institutions as well as entrepreneurial ambitious enterprises which are often privately or family owned, or private equity backed. The firm has a significant business law capability and are one of the only few London-based law firms with a large private wealth offering.
The private client department assists HNW and UHNW individuals, their families and advisers with their tax and estate planning. These clients vary from entrepreneurs, business owners, artists, authors, musicians, members of foreign royalty, charities and sports professionals in the UK and overseas.
The role will focus on the administration of a broad range of estates and a chance to be involved with some interesting, yet complex estates with international aspects. This will include the following:
- liaising with personal representatives and ascertaining the assets and liabilities of the estate;
- all aspects of post-grant administration;
- making applications for the grant of representation;
- supporting the estate accountant in preparing estate accounts;
- wills, trusts and estate planning for UK and international clients;
- trust administration; and
- preparation of lasting powers of attorney and court of protection work.
Ideally, you will have experience of the above from a top tier private client team. In particular, you will have experience in administration of a broad range of estates (including international assets), a good level of tax knowledge necessary for administration of estates, tax efficient will drafting and related issues & experience of advising clients on various aspects of estates planning. Accordingly, a strong commercial understanding and ability to apply legal principles to client circumstances is key.
