Head of Legal – Employment
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Head of Employment at a well-known international company. This is an exciting, fast paced business and it will be a challenging role to take on with plenty of scope for development.
This role reports into the General Counsel and is responsible for one direct report. Responsibilities will include partnering with the HR Department and other business functions on a broad range of employment related matters and will advise all levels of the business across EMEA; participating in the development of legally sound policies and programs in all areas of labor and employment law, including salary matters, discipline, counselling and termination, all aspects of laws regarding discrimination, wrongful and unfair termination; advising on the Company’s relationship with Works Councils and/or Trade Unions; Company-wide employment issues, operational issues and Compliance/Data Privacy assist in the management of external counsel relationships and budgets; and educating on trends and legal actions which may affect the workplace through written materials or training seminars.
To be successful in this role, you must have trained at a highly regarded law firm with experience working with Employment matters across EMEA. Previous or current in-house experience will be beneficial. This role would best suit someone who has a minimum of 7 years’ PQE as this will be a senior position, however all levels of experience will be considered.
You will have the ability to work autonomously, think strategically and creatively and communicate clearly and precisely. You must be enthusiastic, proactive, enjoy working hard and being challenged, and demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations. You will be able to work in a team environment and become an integral part of the business.
