Group Risk and Control Manager – 9 month FTC

Taylor Root is pleased to be working with a FTSE listed business to recruit a Group Risk and Controls Manager. The role will be initially on a 9 month fixed term contract.

As Group Risk and Assurance Manager, the candidate will be responsible for the following:

Internal Controls

* Reviewing documented processes and controls for completeness and accuracy updating where required

* Working alongside the Business Analyst to ensure all key business processes are documented

* Setting up a programme of regular testing of internal controls and to facilitate this testing with the Group and regional Financial Controllers

* Challenging and improving existing internal controls

* Recommending new internal controls

Risk Management

* Working with department heads across the Group to create risk registers in our new GRC software

* Identifying internal controls that are in place to manage our risks

* Developing our risk management framework

* Helping to define risk appetite

* Scrutinizing system generated risk scoring and RAGs

* Ensuring all key business activities have a risk assessment

Additional Responsibilities

Provide a written quarterly update on internal controls and risk for inclusion in Audit Committee papers

* Liaising with auditors where required

* Managing a variety of stakeholders and their expectations

* Assessing how well we are complying with rules and regulations and informing management of any issues that need addressing

About you

An expert in internal controls and risk management

* Good relevant experience for example working as an internal auditor

* Proven ability to work across an organization at senior levels

* Happy working independently

* Good communicator, orally and in writing
