An exciting opportunity has arisen for a mid-level French qualified Lawyer to join a highly regarded media company. This company is distinctly positioned to encourage and enable creativity and communications across the full spectrum of the world's growing creative community. You will be joining the legal team comprised of talented lawyers from various international backgrounds reporting into the Vice President of Legal.

Responsibilities will include providing legal support to various business functions, with an emphasis on the Sales, Business Development and Marketing functions across Europe, having primary responsibility for France, all with regard to the B2B licensing of imagery and other digital content. You will partner with colleagues in other departments to negotiate and implement a range of commercial agreements. You will also get involved with data privacy and GDPR, disputes and employment matters. You will keep yourself updated on legal developments relevant to the business, with particular focus on copyright and other intellectual property laws, with aim of identifying risks/opportunities for the business.

The successful applicant will be a qualified French lawyer who is fully fluent and proficient working in English language. You will have experience at a large law firm and/or as in-house counsel, dealing with licensing of intellectual property, data protection and other commercial matters. You will have prior knowledge and experience negotiating and drafting contracts and agreements independently, with an excellent attention to detail. Strong negotiation skills and ability to interact at all levels, internally and externally is essential. Some experience with employment matters in France will also be beneficial. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a heightened awareness and appreciation of contributing to a respectful and inclusive working culture.
