Employment Solicitor | 12-month FTC | London (City)

Our client, a prestigious Top 50 law firm, is looking for a talented employment solicitor to join their team on a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover parental leave. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a highly regarded practice, advising a broad client base on a full range of employment matters.

The firm is open to applications from individuals seeking to work 4 or 5 days a week, and the role is on a hybrid basis.

The Role:

The successful individual will:

  • Provide strategic advice on employment policies, disciplinary and grievance procedures, redundancies, and GDPR compliance
  • Manage employment tribunal litigation, including drafting pleadings, attending hearings, and handling case management steps
  • Advise on TUPE, due diligence, and key employment considerations in corporate transactions
  • Work with senior executives on severance negotiations and maximise their exit terms
  • Assist with employment and partnership disputes, with knowledge of High Court CPR being advantageous
  • Support business development initiatives, such as writing articles and attending networking events

About You:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Ideally 6+ PQE (must be England & Wales qualified)
  • Solid employment advisory experience.
  • Experience handling employment tribunal proceedings for both Claimants and Respondents
  • Strong knowledge of employment status issues, including worker status and drafting contracts for services
  • Transactional employment experience would be a distinct advantage.
  • Familiarity with employment data protection, privacy issues, and Data Subject Access Requests
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build strong client relationships
  • A proactive, pragmatic approach and the ability to manage competing deadlines
  • A willingness to contribute to a busy and ambitious team
