Senior Employment Counsel

We are working with a leading financial services company that is seeking an experienced Senior Employment Counsel to join their UK Legal team as the employment lead. This newly created role will see you partnering closely with the HR function to provide expert legal advice on employment law compliance, employee relations, and risk management. Reporting to the Head of Legal, you will be responsible for advising on employment disputes, overseeing the implementation of legal changes affecting HR, and supporting the business with strategic legal counsel across various employment-related issues.

In this role, you will work collaboratively with senior leadership and HR teams, helping shape the company’s approach to employee management, diversity and inclusion, and regulatory compliance. You will also take the lead in delivering training on employment law, handling employment tribunal claims, and advising on data protection issues relating to HR. While the position does not have direct reports, you will be involved in mentoring junior members of the legal team and collaborating with external counsel when necessary.

This is a permanent opportunity based in the company’s Nottingham office, offering a hybrid working model (three days in the office). The role offers excellent career progression, competitive benefits, and a dynamic, inclusive working environment. If you are a highly skilled employment lawyer and looking to take the next step in your career, this could be the perfect role for you.
