A leading health sector practice are recruiting for a data protection lawyer to join their specialist team acting for both public and private sector clients in the health, social care and housing sector clients.
The firms clients include all forms of NHS organisations, governmental and regulatory bodies, registered providers, insurers, defence organisations, independent healthcare providers, charities and GP practices.
The role within the clinical law advisory division will involve working across information law including protection and use of patient information, GDPR, Data Protection, litigation and ICO enforcement, due diligence, consent and confidentiality, public law issues including statutory powers and duties of public bodies, judicial review challenges and regulatory matters (including acting for regulated providers of health and social care in relation to the inspection and enforcement powers of the CQC).
Offering a highly competitive salary, excellent quality work and progression prospects, this role is open to data protection/information specialist lawyers or barristers with at least 2 years post qualification experience including GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018, subject access requests and freedom of information law. Candidates with experience of the health sector will be of particular interest. There is the scope for advocacy and client secondments in the above role and the successful candidate will also have the opportunity to work on broader work-streams within the team as outlined above.
