The Role

Well-regarded international law firm is seeking a talented and driven Senior Corporate or Special Counsel M&A Lawyer to join their energy transition and renewables-focused corporate practice.

This team has a focus on energy transition and sustainability. They have worked on every major portfolio transaction in the market and their practice is one of the top 3 practices in the country. They work on cutting edge, market-leading projects work including compressed air, wind, battery, energy storage, etc. The work is comprised of a mix of 70% corporate transactional (acquisitions, joint venture, structuring, divestments etc) and 30% projects (offtake arrangements, helping projects get off the ground). Not many firms have this blend between corporate and projects expertise.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate should be a Senior Associate or junior Special Counsel with good transactional M&A skills gained from a top tier or reputable midtier firm. Prior experience in renewable energy and projects is advantageous, but not required; a genuine interest in renewable energy is a must.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven senior M&A lawyer to gain exposure to the fast-moving world of renewable energy and energy transition. This exciting position offers definite pathways for career progression and a lead into Special Counsel for the right person.

Candidates from interstate, Australian lawyers returning from overseas, and New Zealand or UK lawyers are all of interest.
