The Role

You'll support the Group Head by managing day-today compliance operations for the company's investment management arm. This is a standalone role, with responsibility for the full suite of compliance activity, including:

  • Corps Act and AFSL requirements
  • Formal and ad hoc reporting to external regulators, auditors and various Boards and Committees
  • Breaches
  • Ownership of compliance registers
  • Annual policy reviews and related training
  • AML/CTF/KYC: AUSTRAC relationship management, monitoring, reporting and policies & procedures

The Ideal Candidate

Our client is searching for a talented compliance leader, or senior figure looking for greater exposure to leadership. As the team is lean, you'll need to be adaptable, and comfortable with dealing with a range of compliance issues personally, with little support. If the following description sounds familiar, you're likely to be a good fit:

  • Strong academics in law, commerce, finance or similar, ideally with post-graduate education
  • 5-8 years' experience in in a compliance role in funds management, investments or a top-tier accounting firm
  • Evident project management skills, and a level of ease working autonomously
  • Creative, outcome-focused approach
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, built over a period of reporting to senior stakeholders
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the Corps Act, Australian AML/CTF legislation and the regulatory landscape
