Compliance Director - Benelux

The Company

My client is a global insurance broker which currently works with 80% of the world's 1000 largest companies along with many mid-market and smaller businesses around the world.

The Role

Based in either the Netherlands or Brussels, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating compliance policies and procedures for the regulated entities throughout the Benelux region.

You will be managing the activities of the regional, local and business unit compliance officers and other relevant staff, leading and developing a team to meet the compliance objectives of the business.

Your goal will be to create a premier compliance function by protecting and developing the business through exceptional risk management and expert execution.

As well as managing a high performing compliance function, you will also play an active part in senior leadership forums and various committees across the group, establishing effective relationships with service providers and stakeholders outside of the region.

Career Progression

This would be an excellent opportunity for a Senior Compliance Manager or Deputy to step up into a Head of function. Likewise, as regulation become ever more global, if you are a current Head of Compliance and looking for a new challenge, experience of a new regulatory environment then this could be your next step. You will be operating and influencing decision making at the NED and C-Suite level of a global multi-jurisdiction complex business and enabling growth and innovation through robust and efficient compliance policies and procedures.

Key Experience

  • Broad understanding of the insurance industry with experience of providing legal, regulatory and /or compliance advice across a broad range of business practices
  • Experience in insurance brokerage, commercial insurance carriers or other advisory-oriented professional services businesses
