For our client, Fugro, we are looking for a Compliance Counsel to be based at their global headquarters in Leidschendam. About the role:

Reporting into the Global Compliance Manager, you will be advising on a wide variety of compliance related topics such as Ethics, Code of conduct, Data Privacy and Sanctions. You will have the unique opportunity to work together with a very experienced Compliance Manager to further shape the compliance function for a renown listed global company and to ensure adherence to regulatory obligations and legal requirements.
As part of day to day business, you will be involved, both strategically and operationally, in various global compliance initiatives and play an important role in global compliance related projects. Furthermore you will promote a culture which encourages compliance and business integrity and you will provide training sessions to the business.

About you:

  • An understanding of the regulatory environment in which a global organisation operates;
  • An understanding of data protection law is preferred, but not required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience;
  • Fluent in (written & oral) English;
  • Experience of developing processes and writing reports to a high standard;
  • Experience with sanctions regulations is a plus;
  • Strong communicator at all levels;
  • Strong relationship management skills will help facilitate a pro-active and effective compliance-to-business relationship;
  • Intuitive self-starter with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively;
  • Ability to work well independently and as well as part of a global team;
  • Good risk based judgement skills including the ability to assess compliance risks appropriately with commercial needs;
  • Willingness to learn;
  • (International travel may be required from time-to-time).
