Our client is a world-class investment bank based in Europe. They have operations in all major financial centers around the world and is one of the nine global "Bulge Bracket" banks providing services in investment banking, private banking, asset management, and shared services. Our client is currently looking for a junior Lawyer to join their APAC legal team here in Hong Kong. This is a unique and excellent role for junior lawyers who is looking to make a transition in-house.
Your New Role
You would primarily be responsible for providing legal support to the APAC division in relation to structured finance and derivatives matters. You would cover a full range of areas including credit and equity derivatives, total return swaps, off-balance sheet structured notes, proprietary indices, index-linked products, structured investment funds, asset finance, capital relief transactions and alternative investments.
What you will need to succeed
The ideal candidate would be a Hong Kong or Common Law qualified lawyer with 1-4 years PQE. You must demonstrate strong academic achievements and obtained training in a Magic Circle or top-tier US / international law firm. You must also have strong experience in (i) derivatives products, in particular credit and equity derivatives; and / or (ii) off-balance sheet structured finance transactions; and / or (iii) lending and debt capital markets products. Experience in industry-standard OTC documentation (i.e., ISDA, GMRA, etc.) and related collateral, clearing and netting arrangements is highly preferred.
