The business is growing rapidly and continues to strengthen its central legal function to support expansion across multiple jurisdictions.

The Opportunity

This is a senior, high‑visibility opportunity for a commercially minded Associate Corporate Counsel to play a pivotal role within a Group Legal function. Acting as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and Group functions, the role provides strategic, practical legal guidance across a diverse range of matters.

You will support executive-level decision-making, contribute to governance and compliance frameworks, and advise on complex commercial, corporate, procurement, and regulatory issues that underpin the organisation’s growth strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted legal partner to Group Functions and senior leadership.
  • Provide legal advice across procurement, commercial, corporate, employment, privacy, competition, and governance matters.
  • Draft, review, negotiate, and advise on high‑value and complex procurement, infrastructure access, concession, and services agreements.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and advise on emerging risks and impacts to the business.
  • Support the Group General Counsel on board and governance matters, including company secretarial activities.
  • Instruct and manage external legal advisors where appropriate.

Focus Areas (Next 12-24 Months)

  • Review and enhance group‑wide legal precedents, templates, and playbooks.
  • Support major procurement and commercial negotiations across the group.
  • Assist with company secretarial matters including transactions, regulatory filings, and corporate restructurings.
  • Contribute to compliance initiatives, including maintaining a group legal risk register aligned with certification frameworks.
  • Horizon‑scan and support the development of policies aligned with new regulatory and industry developments.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Qualified solicitor (or equivalent) with a current practising certificate.
  • Minimum of 3+ years’ post‑qualification experience, gained in private practice and/or an in‑house legal role.
  • Strong background in procurement, corporate, and commercial law.

Experience, Knowledge & Skills

  • Exposure to infrastructure or regulated‑sector agreements would be advantageous.
  • Working knowledge of corporate governance and company secretarial matters.
  • Strong negotiation and stakeholder‑management skills.
  • Clear, confident written and verbal communication.
  • Practical, solutions‑focused approach with the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.
