My client, a leading banking and financial services organisation is looking to hire an experienced Corporate M&A lawyer (8 years PQE minimum) to assist the General Counsel, Group M&A to manage legal risks across the business. This is a fantastic role at a very senior level and the successful candidate will be an integral part of the team and therefore will have to have an exceptional knowledge and wealth of experience at their disposal which will enable them to run with a number of deals at any one time.
The diversity of this organisation's business along with its geographic spread and the constant changes internally and externally means the diversity of matters which the roleholder is required to manage and advise on is very wide.
The role requires an understanding of the structures of the organisation, its standards and its culture and the ability to handle increasingly complex legal issues.
Clients will predominantly be executives in Group M&A and Group Strategy and Planning. The roleholer must also establish close mutually supportive working relationships with other members of the Group Legal team and the Global Legal Function.
The roleholder must work largely autonomously, but seek management input on unusual situations, highly complex issues and matters that may pose significant legal, financial or regulatory risk to the organisation or a member of the organisation.
As this is a demanding yet rare and excellent role, I am very keen to speak with qualified lawyers from leading law firms or banking organisations who have significant mergers and acquisitions experience. The successful candidate will require a knowledge and experience of banking, corporate and securities law concepts and a working knowledge of the laws in the major jurisdictions in which this organisation operates.
*** Please note that my client has given me a strict hiring criteria to adhere to, so if you do not receive a response to your application within one week, your application has been deemed unsuccessful.***
Please note our advertisements use PQE/salary levels purely as a guide. However we are happy to consider applications from all candidates who are able to demonstrate the skills necessary to fulfil the role.
