Tim has an impressive track record of senior level placements. In a recruitment career spanning over 20 years, he has worked on many of the more notable projects in the London market including successfully completing a large proportion of US firm start-ups, mostly exclusively retained. Large, set-piece projects of this nature, almost always involving multi-partner team moves, require an in-depth understanding of the client firm, its strategic aims and the markets it is operating in together with a high degree of tact and discretion in circumstances requiring water-tight confidentiality over an extended period. Tim has developed a reputation for honesty, good judgment and pragmatic advice consistent with the aims of his clients. The success of these large London-based projects led to him being instructed by US firms to work on strategic Partner and team hires in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and the US. Accordingly, Tim has pivoted his practice to being more international in focus than purely London based.
In addition to these large, strategic projects, Tim also works more opportunistically with key clients, conducting, for clients, a mix of retained/exclusive/ad hoc search exercises and, for individuals, partner representation for senior individuals and their teams who are looking to move.
Although he has worked in almost every conceivable practice area, Tim’s main practice focus is, broadly, transactional, with a strong focus on PE, Investment Funds, Asset Management and M&A.
Prior to joining SR Group, Tim had his own Search firm, Hoar Marshall, which he co-founded in 2000, a market-leading Executive Search firm known for being the leading adviser to US firms, particularly in relation to office start-ups.
