Senior Legal Counsel – Marketing <\/strong><\/p>\n

12 Month Fixed Term Contract<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hybrid – Welwyn Garden City – 2-3 days in office<\/p>\n

August-September start date<\/p>\n

We are working with a leading UK consumer and retail business on a Senior Legal Counsel opportunity within its commercial legal team.<\/p>\n

This is a 12 month fixed term contract, covering maternity leave, with an anticipated start date around August\/September. The role would suit a confident commercial lawyer with strong marketing, advertising and consumer protection experience, who enjoys partnering closely with senior stakeholders.<\/p>\n

The role will be focused on customer-facing advisory work, including marketing campaigns, loyalty and customer propositions, pricing and promotions, regulatory and competitor challenges, and ASA matters. There will also be a meaningful IP element, including brand protection, portfolio management, disputes and IP aspects of commercial contracts.<\/p>\n

Key responsibilities include:<\/p>\n

* Advising on marketing, advertising, consumer, pricing and promotions law<\/p>\n

* Supporting customer propositions and loyalty-related work from concept through to execution<\/p>\n

* Drafting and managing ASA complaints, both to and from competitors and customers<\/p>\n

* Advising on IP protection, disputes, enforcement and brand-related projects<\/p>\n

* Partnering closely with senior commercial and marketing stakeholders<\/p>\n

* Supporting legal transformation initiatives, including tools, process improvements and AI adoption<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The ideal candidate will be:<\/p>\n

* A qualified lawyer with strong marketing and advertising experience<\/p>\n

* Comfortable advising senior stakeholders and providing pragmatic, risk-based guidance<\/p>\n

* Experienced in consumer protection, pricing and promotions law<\/p>\n

* Able to support on IP matters, including disputes and portfolio management<\/p>\n

* Ideally experienced in-house and\/or within the retail or consumer sector<\/p>\n

* Proactive, commercial and comfortable working autonomously in a busy environment<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
