{"id":116984,"date":"2026-03-02T11:03:42","date_gmt":"2026-03-02T11:03:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.taylorroot.com\/job\/head-of-risk-compliance-bath\/"},"modified":"2026-03-02T11:03:43","modified_gmt":"2026-03-02T11:03:43","slug":"head-of-risk-compliance-bath-116984","status":"publish","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/www.taylorroot.com\/de\/job\/head-of-risk-compliance-bath-116984\/","title":{"rendered":"Head of Risk &amp; Compliance, Bath"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Head of Risk &amp; Compliance, Bath<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A respected self\u2011funded, not\u2011for\u2011profit charity based in Bath is seeking an experienced Head of Risk &amp; Compliance to lead on all matters across operational governance, risk management, compliance and assurance.<\/p>\n<p>Reporting to the Finance Director, you&#8217;ll manage the Risk &amp; Compliance team and ensure charity operations comply with organisational policies and procedures, regulatory compliance, and risk management approaches<\/p>\n<p>Based in the city centre of Bath, in new, modern offices. This is a hands-on role, as you will play a pivotal role in the new phase of transformation where your expertise will directly support the Executive team and board of trustees in delivering the charity&#8217;s mission.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Key Responsibilities<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Operational Governance:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work in partnership with the Board Governance Secretary to implement and monitor the Assurance Framework and its policies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure the Board of Trustees is supported with accurate, timely, and relevant information and reporting, for effective decision-making.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Design and embed robust operational governance and reporting of regulatory compliance to the Executive team, identifying trends and providing recommendations for action.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Risk Management<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Create, implement and maintain the charity&#8217;s Risk Management Policy and Framework, including risk registers and mitigation plans.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Identify, assess, and monitor operational, financial, reputational, and strategic risks.<\/li>\n<li>Work with the Executive and Senior Management Team to embed risk awareness into decision-making and planning, including the design and delivery of risk management training.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Compliance and Assurance<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Oversee compliance with relevant legal, regulatory, and statutory requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Lead internal audits and reviews, ensuring findings are addressed promptly and embedded.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Support the organisation&#8217;s external audits and inspections as required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Required Experience<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Proven experience in governance, risk management, or compliance, ideally within the charity or not-for profit<\/li>\n<li>sector<\/li>\n<li>Experience of successfully developing and implementing risk management strategies and frameworks<\/li>\n<li>Writing reports on behalf of Executives<\/li>\n<li>Designing and delivering training<\/li>\n<li>Managing projects successfully<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Desirable Experience<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong understanding of charity law, regulatory frameworks, and best practice governance standards<\/li>\n<li>Level 5 Qualification (or equivalent experience)<\/li>\n<li>Governance, Risk and Compliance qualification<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;font-size: 8pt\">Please note our advertisements use PQE\/salary levels purely as a guide.
