{"id":116802,"date":"2026-02-25T10:51:32","date_gmt":"2026-02-25T10:51:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.taylorroot.com\/job\/commercial-counsel\/"},"modified":"2026-04-09T00:53:19","modified_gmt":"2026-04-09T00:53:19","slug":"commercial-counsel-116802","status":"expired","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/www.taylorroot.com\/de\/?post_type=job_listing&p=116802","title":{"rendered":"Commercial Counsel"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We&#8217;re hiring a Commercial Counsel to join a high\u2011growth, global SaaS business operating at the forefront of data\u2011driven customer engagement and AI\u2011enabled technology.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>This is a fully remote role with responsibility for leading complex commercial negotiations across UK, EMEA and APAC, partnering closely with senior stakeholders across Sales, Revenue, Finance, Security and Procurement<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;re a commercially minded lawyer who enjoys autonomy, fast\u2011moving deals, and navigating evolving European regulation, this role offers real influence and visibility.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>The Role<\/p>\n<p>You&#8217;ll act as the primary legal partner for go\u2011to\u2011market teams, owning high\u2011value commercial negotiations and advising on privacy, security and AI\u2011related compliance in a dynamic, international environment.<\/p>\n<p>This is a senior role for someone comfortable balancing risk with commercial outcomes and helping the business scale through practical, solutions\u2011focused legal support.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>What You&#8217;ll Be Doing<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Leading negotiations on complex, revenue\u2011generating agreements (including MSAs, DPAs and enterprise SaaS contracts)<\/li>\n<li>Supporting vendor, partner and procurement agreements across multiple jurisdictions<\/li>\n<li>Advising stakeholders on data protection, privacy, security and AI governance matters<\/li>\n<li>Interpreting and shaping business responses to evolving European regulation (including GDPR, ePrivacy and emerging AI and digital frameworks)<\/li>\n<li>Building scalable legal infrastructure &#8211; templates, playbooks and processes to support growth<\/li>\n<li>Training and enabling commercial teams on contract process, compliance and risk<\/li>\n<li>Acting as a trusted advisor to senior EMEA leadership on strategic initiatives<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>What We&#8217;re Looking For<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>8+ years&#8216; in\u2011house commercial legal experience, ideally within a SaaS or technology business<\/li>\n<li>Strong experience negotiating enterprise technology agreements and DPAs<\/li>\n<li>Deep working knowledge of GDPR and EU data protection frameworks<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with AI, data and digital regulation (or strong interest in developing expertise)<\/li>\n<li>Qualified to practice in\u2011house in the UK or another EMEA jurisdiction<\/li>\n<li>Confident communicator with executive presence and strong stakeholder management skills<\/li>\n<li>Comfortable working autonomously in a fast\u2011paced, high\u2011growth environment<\/li>\n<li>Pragmatic, solutions\u2011oriented approach to risk and deal\u2011making<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Nice to Have<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>CIPP\/E or similar data privacy certification<\/li>\n<li>French or German language skills<\/li>\n<li>Experience working with or experimenting with AI tools<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Location &amp; Working Model<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fully remote (UK\u2011based)<\/li>\n<li>Occasional travel may be required (up to ~10%)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Why Apply?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>High autonomy and ownership in a senior IC role<\/li>\n<li>Exposure to cutting\u2011edge AI, data and regulatory issues<\/li>\n<li>Collaborative, digital\u2011first culture<\/li>\n<li>Competitive compensation package including equity<\/li>\n<li>Flexible working, strong benefits and wellbeing support<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;font-size: 8pt\">Please note our advertisements use PQE\/salary levels purely as a guide.
