Role Overview

The Senior Director, Construction & Design Counsel (US) will lead the full lifecycle of design, development, and delivery for major data center infrastructure projects across the United States. This role will oversee design, engineering, construction, procurement, and vendor management, ensuring facilities are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with high standards of quality, safety, and operational performance. The position plays a critical role in supporting both US‑based and global expansion initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead all aspects of data center design, engineering, and construction across US projects.

* Oversee commercial and technical negotiations related to infrastructure requirements and colocation arrangements.

* Support expansion into new domestic and international markets.

* Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, escalating where appropriate.

* Coordinate cross‑functionally with construction, operations, finance, commercial, and leadership teams.

* Build and strengthen vendor and partner ecosystems, ensuring governance, performance, and cost control.

Key Deliverables

* Delivery of high‑quality, scalable, energy‑efficient data center facilities within defined timelines and budgets.

* Development of standardized design frameworks, processes, and technical specifications.

* Execution of EPC, supplier, and colocation contracts aligned with commercial strategy.

* Continuous improvement across design, engineering, construction, and execution workflows.

Experience & Qualifications

Essential:

* Qualified attorney with 10+ years of combined experience in a law firm and/or multinational corporate environment.

* Strong background in non‑contentious construction, major infrastructure, or large‑scale industrial development.

* Proven experience leading large‑scale data center or mission‑critical infrastructure projects.

* Track record of delivering complex, multi‑site projects across the US and/or internationally.

* Expertise in vendor management, procurement, and commercial negotiation.

* Deep understanding of the end‑to‑end development lifecycle (land acquisition, permitting, design, construction, commissioning).

* Experience with colocation contracting and customer‑driven technical requirements.

* Ability to evaluate commercial and legal risks and propose practical solutions.

* Strong leadership and stakeholder‑management skills.

Desirable:

* Ability to translate technical legal matters into clear, pragmatic guidance.

* Experience with disputes (not essential).

* Highly organized, adaptable, and effective in fast‑moving, ambiguous environments.

* Proactive, responsive working style with strong decision‑making confidence.
