Job details:

Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) is a global creator and distributor of entertainment products, services and technologies.  Headquartered in Los Angeles and with offices in Europe, Latin America and Asia, the company is a market leader within the entertainment industry.

We are now looking for additional legal support to work with the executive team based at our European HQ in Central London.  Reporting to the SVP Legal Affairs, Europe, your responsibilities will include advising generally on commercial legal issues affecting SPE and supporting business activities in a variety of areas.  In particular this will focus on:

  • Dealing with television/new media licensing and distribution agreements;
  • Drafting and negotiating contracts relating to Channel launches and operations and other strategic corporate transactions.

You will enjoy considerable visibility and interaction with people at all levels across the business from heads of division through to sales and channel personnel, as well as with your counterparts in LA.

To take on this role, you will need significant relevant experience at a leading law firm.  In addition, relevant experience at another major studio/entertainment company is preferred, but not essential.  On a personal level, it is crucial that you are able to work independently and can demonstrate sound commercial and business judgement.

This is a rare and exciting opportunity for a dynamic, talented and diplomatic lawyer to join one of the world’s leading media organisations in a challenging and diverse role.  This role is advertised as a fixed term contract of limited duration.  Subsequent extension of the contract term may also be a possibility.
