ASSISTANT UK LEGAL COUNSEL (CONSTRUCTION)

Our client provides high technology, turnkey industrial solutions in three major groups of products and services: environmental, mechanical engineering and energy.

The legal function is predominately based in Paris and offers in-house legal services to group companies on an international basis. They now seek an additional lawyer to join the team to provide legal support to the Group and its UK subsidiaries.  As the sole lawyer based in Chancery Lane, you will work closely with the Group General Counsel and will be fully integrated within the Group’s legal team.

The legal work will be both varied and challenging and will primarily involve drafting, reviewing and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements and arrangements in relation to construction and project related matters for the Group and its UK subsidiaries. In addition to the mainstream legal work, you will be responsible for contentious matters as they arise as well as company secretarial matters relating to the UK subsidiaries.

To succeed in this role you will need to be a self starter who works well under supervision and also autonomously. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude to successfully project manage a busy and varied workload and have the confidence to interact with internal clients and to build relationships with them.  Whilst not essential, fluent or advanced knowledge of French language would be advantageous.
