East Anglia
Named after one of the ancient Anglo-Saxon kingdoms, East Anglia has a great deal to offer. The region's boundaries are somewhat vague but the general consensus is that it comprises Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Suffolk, Peterborough and at least some of Essex.
Whilst each of these offer an impressive array of restaurants, bars, night-clubs and theatres, the region’s main attraction is the Norfolk and Suffolk Broads which provides beautiful walks and boating trips for visitors. Other big attractions include the Norfolk and Suffolk Coast and the Chiltern Hills.
The principal East Anglian legal centres are Cambridge, Norwich and Ipswich. The famous university city of Cambridge is widely known for its splendid ancient colleges and entertaining punting! The historical city of Norwich, gateway to the Broads, is said to be the most complete medieval city in Britain. Although the largest city in the region, it is widely recognised as a very safe city and reassuringly, surveys have found it to have one of the lowest crime rates in the country!
Last but not least, Ipswich is a town with a proud 800-year Royal Charter and a long maritime tradition. The town's historic Waterfront has had quite a revival and today visitors can enjoy the various bars, restaurants and hotels on the quayside.
