Regional Law Firms
As the regional firms continue their competitive assault on the City firms, they are increasingly hiring high calibre partner designates to bolster existing practice groups with lawyers who have ‘large firm' experience. Many of the medium-sized regional firms also recruit at this level to deal with succession issues within the partnership.
Whilst it is possible that senior assistants moving from either a City or a large regional firm to another regional player might be offered an immediate partnership, it is more usual that lawyers would hired be hired with a very clear understanding as to when they might be appointed to the partnership.
